If you search for a Mercedes V-Class with driver in Barcelona, you usually want one thing: a comfortable people carrier that keeps a family, a small team or a group of friends together in one car. The V-Class is the vehicle I put most mixed groups into, and this page explains what it suits, what it costs and how to book it.
Who the Mercedes V-Class suits
The V-Class is a seven-seat minivan with a driver, and it sits between the three-seat E-Class and the 16-seat Sprinter. It works well for:
- Families of four to seven arriving with suitcases and pushchairs.
- Small business groups who want to talk in the car on the way to a meeting.
- Friends and wedding parties who would rather share one vehicle than split across taxis.
- Guests on a day out, where the same car and driver stay with you from morning to evening.
If you are travelling as a couple, the Mercedes E-Class costs the same on the airport run, so the question is only how much space you want. For a group above seven, look at the Sprinter or the minibus.
Minivan with driver: seats and luggage
The V-Class carries up to 7 passengers. Seats are only part of the picture, because every extra suitcase takes room that a passenger could have used. Count your large cases, golf bags, pushchairs and cabin bags, then compare the total with the seats you need.
A rule I use: if every traveller has a large suitcase, six people is already a full car. In that case I would rather quote you the Sprinter than squeeze the V-Class. Send me the passenger and luggage numbers and I recommend one vehicle, not a list of options.
V-Class prices
Prices are in euros and include VAT. They are for the vehicle, not per person.
| Service | V-Class |
|---|---|
| Barcelona airport (El Prat) to or from Barcelona | €80 |
| Driver at your disposal, 6 hours (minimum per day) | €470 |
| Driver at your disposal, 8 hours | €630 |
| Each additional hour | €80 |
Hourly hire has a 6-hour minimum per day and no maximum. Fixed prices to Sitges, Montserrat, Girona, PortAventura and Andorra are on the prices page. Anything else, such as other cities or several days, is quoted on request. I do not invent a “from” figure for those.
V-Class airport transfer
For arrivals and departures, the V-Class is the car I suggest for groups of four to seven. The Barcelona airport price is the same as for the E-Class, so a larger group pays no more for more space. You can read the route, timing and how the pick-up works on the Barcelona airport transfer page.
Flight details matter. When you send the quote request, include the flight number, the date and the terminal if you know it. I plan the pick-up from there. For official terminal information, see Aena’s Barcelona-El Prat page.
Using the V-Class for a day with a driver
The hourly option turns the car into a base for the day. You tell me the plan and I drive it, so there is no parking, no searching for a taxi and no repeated pick-ups.
- City day: Sagrada Família, Park Güell and the old town in one route. The private Barcelona day tour page has ideas for how to order the stops.
- Day out of town: Montserrat, Sitges, Penedès or the Costa Brava, which you can browse on the day trips from Barcelona hub.
- Business day: several meetings across the city, with the car waiting between them. See business chauffeur in Barcelona.
Six hours is the minimum per day. If the plan runs longer, extra hours are charged at the hourly rate above.
How the V-Class compares with the other vehicles
| Vehicle | Seats | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | 3 | Couples, executives, light luggage |
| Mercedes V-Class | 7 | Families, small groups, more luggage |
| Mercedes Sprinter | 16 | Larger groups, events |
| Minibus | 33 | Group tours, transfers |
| Coach | 60 | Big groups and congress transport |
The S-Class is booked by the hour only. The fleet page shows every vehicle, and the limousine hire page covers the premium option.
Comfort and practical details on board
The V-Class is a people carrier, so the seating is upright and easy to get into, which matters for older guests and children. I do not promise features I cannot verify for every car, so if you need something specific, ask in the quote request and I confirm it.
Luggage is the point where plans go wrong. A V-Class takes a surprising amount, but not seven large suitcases plus seven people. For a family with a pushchair and a ski bag, I would tell you honestly if the Sprinter is the better call.
Meeting point and timing
For airport pick-ups, I confirm the meeting point before you travel. For hotels, I use the address you give me, and I plan the departure time from your flight, your meeting or your reservation. If you are heading for a train, the Renfe website is the place to check the departure before you choose the pick-up time.
V-Class for events and special days
Weddings, birthdays and company events often start with the question of how to get everyone there. One V-Class takes up to 7 guests, and two cars take two groups. The wedding chauffeur page describes the service, and for conferences see the Mobile World Congress page. Event dates and demand change from year to year, so for busy weeks book early and send the date as soon as you have it.
