If your group is too big for a van, a coach is the simplest way to keep everyone together. This page explains how coach hire in Barcelona works with me, what it costs, and when a smaller vehicle makes more sense. For groups of up to 33 I would look at the minibus first. For the broader range of buses, see bus and coach hire.
Coach hire Barcelona: what you get
The coach seats up to 60 passengers and comes with a professional driver. You do not drive it, park it or look for a route: the driver takes the group from the pick-up point to each stop and waits where you ask. I plan the route with you before the day, so everyone knows where the coach will be and when it leaves.
Typical uses are:
- Arrivals and departures for a wedding party, conference or tour group at Barcelona airport.
- A day out to Montserrat, Girona, Sitges or the Costa Brava with a driver at your disposal.
- Corporate shuttles between a hotel, a venue and the airport.
- School, sports or pilgrim groups that must travel together.
Everything is priced per vehicle. Sixty people on one coach cost the same as one booking, which is why a coach tends to beat several smaller cars for large groups.
Coach rental Barcelona prices
Prices are in euros and include VAT. The full table is on the prices page; the coach rows are these:
| Service | Coach (up to 60) | Minibus (up to 33) |
|---|---|---|
| Barcelona airport to or from Barcelona | €320 | €320 |
| Driver at your disposal, 6 hours | €685 | €685 |
| Driver at your disposal, 8 hours | €900 | €900 |
| Each additional hour | €110 | €110 |
The 6-hour minimum applies per day and there is no maximum. If you book a day out and the group wants another hour at the end, it is simply charged at the hourly rate.
Anything not in the table, for example a transfer to Girona, PortAventura or Andorra, a multi-day tour or a route that starts outside Barcelona, is quoted on request. I do not guess a figure on this page because distance, waiting time and the day of the week all change the answer.
Coach hire Barcelona price: how to read it
The price covers the vehicle and the driver. It is not split per person, so a full coach of 60 and a half-empty one are the same price. Choose the size by headcount and luggage, not by what looks cheapest. If you have 34 people, for instance, you need the coach, because the minibus stops at 33.
Coach hire from Barcelona airport
Many group enquiries start at El Prat. The coach transfer between the airport and Barcelona is €320, and the airport publishes terminal and arrival information on the Aena Barcelona-El Prat site. Send me the flight number, the arrival time and the hotel address, and I confirm the pick-up. For the general arrangement see the airport transfer page.
If part of your group arrives on different flights, tell me. Often it is better to book a smaller vehicle for the early arrivals and the coach for the main group, and I can advise based on the times.
Private coach hire Barcelona for day trips
A coach with a driver at your disposal suits a day out where the group wants flexibility. Popular choices from Barcelona are:
- Montserrat: the monastery has its own visitor information at montserratvisita.com; check it for any access rules before you fix the day.
- Girona and the Costa Brava: a full day with stops in the old town and a coastal village.
- Sitges and the Penedès: a shorter day that fits the 6-hour minimum.
See day trips from Barcelona for ideas, and hourly chauffeur hire for how the disposal hours work. A day-trip price is hours of hire multiplied by the table, so a six-hour excursion is simply the €685 price.
Luxury coach hire Barcelona: what I mean by it
When people search for a luxury coach they usually want a comfortable, clean vehicle with a professional driver rather than a particular badge. I describe the vehicles in the fleet and I do not make claims about equipment I cannot confirm for your date. If you need something specific, such as seat belts for children or space for a wheelchair, ask in the form and I answer honestly.
Choosing between coach, minibus and Sprinter
| Group size | Vehicle | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 7 | Mercedes V-Class | Comfortable, fits luggage for a family or small team |
| 8 to 16 | Mercedes Sprinter | Easy to park, good for hotels in the old town |
| 17 to 33 | Minibus | Keeps a mid-size group on one vehicle |
| 34 to 60 | Coach | One vehicle for large groups and tour parties |
The Sprinter is often my suggestion for mid-sized groups because narrow streets in the centre are easier with it. A coach needs more room to stop and turn, so I agree the drop-off point with you in advance.
Planning a coach day: what I need from you
A coach booking goes smoothly when the basics are clear early. Send the pick-up address, the time you want to leave, the stops in order and the time the group should be back. If several people travel with mobility needs or a lot of luggage, mention it, because it affects where the coach can stop and how long loading takes.
I also ask for a contact person on the day, since a group of sixty is easier to manage when one phone number reaches the organiser. For long days, tell me about meal stops so the driver can plan around them. None of this changes the price in the table; it simply makes the day run on time.
How to book
- Use the form below to tell me the date, the group size and the route.
- Add the pick-up address, the time and anything that affects luggage.
- I reply by e-mail or WhatsApp with a confirmed price.
- Once you confirm, I plan the timings with you and send the final details.
If the route is in the table, the price on this page applies. If it is not, the reply includes a quote for your exact trip. For other transfers see destinations, and for event travel see the events page.
