An event is the one time you do not want to think about parking, timing or who is driving. A chauffeur for the day takes that off the list: the car stays with you, the driver waits while you are inside, and you leave when you choose. This page explains how I work for weddings, congresses, races, galas and private occasions in Barcelona, and what the hire costs.
Event chauffeur in Barcelona: how it works
For most events I recommend a driver at your disposal, which is how hourly hire is booked. You agree the start time and the route, the driver is with you for the day, and the car is ready when the event ends. There is a 6-hour minimum per day, no maximum, and extra hours are charged at the hourly rate. The rates, in euros and VAT included:
| Vehicle | Passengers | 6 hours | 8 hours | Extra hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | €470 | €630 | €80 |
| Mercedes S-Class | up to 3 | €745 | €990 | €125 |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | €470 | €630 | €80 |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | €610 | €785 | €90 |
| Minibus | up to 33 | €685 | €900 | €110 |
| Coach | up to 60 | €685 | €900 | €110 |
The S-Class is booked by the hour only. The figures apply to the vehicle, not per person. The chauffeur by the hour page explains how the hours are counted, and the prices page has the full list.
Events with their own pages
Three occasions come up often enough to deserve a page each:
- Weddings. The couple’s car, the family, the guests and the venue. See wedding chauffeur in Barcelona.
- Mobile World Congress. MWC Barcelona 2027 runs from 1 to 4 March 2027 at Fira Gran Via (official site). Airport arrivals, hotel to Fira and evening dinners. See the MWC chauffeur page.
- Formula 1 at Montmeló. From the city to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and back. See the F1 chauffeur page.
Other recurring events, such as music festivals, are also on request. The Primavera Sound page shows how I handle a festival.
Corporate events and delegations
Company events are mostly about timing and about getting a group to arrive together. A conference dinner, a product launch, a board visit: I plan the pick-ups, agree the stops with the organiser and match the vehicle to the headcount. For a delegation arriving at the airport, the fixed airport price applies, and for several days of events the hourly rate is the basis of the quote. The way I work with companies is on the business chauffeur page.
If the guests travel separately, I suggest splitting them across vehicles rather than waiting for everyone. I can quote a mix of cars and a minibus for one event.
Private occasions: dinners, birthdays, anniversaries
A private dinner or a celebration in the city is easier with a driver than with a taxi rank queue at the end. The Mercedes S-Class is the premium option for two or three guests, the V-Class for a family, and the limousine hire page covers the more formal side. Dress code and arrival time are your decision. The driver adapts.
Airport arrivals for event guests
Event guests mostly arrive by air. A transfer between Barcelona-El Prat and Barcelona is €80 in an E-Class or V-Class, €200 in a Sprinter and €320 in a minibus or coach, VAT included. The details are on the Barcelona airport transfer page. Girona and Reus are further away, and each has its own page: Girona Airport to Barcelona and Reus Airport to Barcelona, both quoted on request.
Planning an event day
A few questions decide how the day runs, and I ask them when I quote:
- Where does the day start and end, and are there stops between them?
- What time must the group be at each place?
- How many people travel, and how much luggage or equipment comes along?
- Does the event have a drop-off point, or a place the vehicle must wait?
If the venue publishes access or parking instructions, send me the link. For city information, Visit Barcelona is the official source, and the Barcelona city website is the one to check for local restrictions.
Why book ahead for an event
Event days are the days when taxis are hardest to find and drivers are busiest. Booking ahead means the vehicle, the time and the price are settled before the day, and the driver has the addresses and the schedule. It also gives me time to match the vehicle to the group, which matters for weddings and congresses where numbers change late. If your plans shift, tell me as soon as you know and I adjust the quote.
Send me the programme if you have one. A one-page schedule with times and addresses is the most useful thing you can give a chauffeur, and it lets me spot problems, such as two venues that are further apart than the timetable allows, before they become problems on the day.
Choosing between one vehicle and several
A single large vehicle keeps a group together and is simple to coordinate, while several smaller cars suit guests who arrive and leave at different times. A gala with eighty guests might use a coach for the main run and two V-Classes for the people who leave early. I am happy to suggest the mix once I know the numbers, the venue and how strict the timetable is, and I put the whole plan in one quote so you see the total before you confirm.
