From Barcelona-El Prat to Girona city centre it is 113 km, about 1 h 30 min without traffic (route on Google Maps). The route heads north on the main motorway, and traffic out of Barcelona on a Friday evening can make it longer.

- Train: Renfe runs trains between Barcelona and Girona. From the airport you usually go into the city first, so there is a change with luggage.
- Bus: coach services link Barcelona with Girona and Girona airport. Times and fares change, so check the operator directly.
- Taxi: a long taxi ride is possible, but I would agree the price in advance.
- Private chauffeur: one vehicle from the terminal to the door.
