Pas de la Casa sits on the French border at the top of the Pyrenees, and most guests who ask me for a Barcelona to Pas de la Casa transfer are going skiing. A private car takes the planning out of a long mountain drive: one pick-up, one driver, the ski bags in the back and no connection in Andorra la Vella.
Barcelona to Pas de la Casa: distance, time and route
From Plaça de Catalunya to Pas de la Casa it is 185 km, about 2 h 40 min without traffic (route on Google Maps). The road leaves Catalonia through the Pyrenees, and mountain roads in winter are where the free-flow time stops being reliable. I always plan a departure that leaves a margin, and I tell you in the quote what time I would start.
The same drive also serves the other resorts in the Grandvalira area. If you are going to Soldeu, La Massana or another village, tell me the name of your hotel and I quote that exact stop.
Barcelona to Pas de la Casa private transfer: prices
My rate for this run is the Barcelona to Andorra rate, per vehicle and VAT included.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Barcelona to Andorra |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | €395 |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | €395 |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | €1,220 |
| Minibus | up to 33 | €1,485 |
| Coach | up to 60 | €1,485 |
The price is per vehicle, not per person, so a ski group fills the vehicle without the fare changing. I confirm the resort address in the quote before you book. Return legs, several days and extra stops are quoted on request. The full table is on the prices page.
Choosing a vehicle for a ski group
| Group | Vehicle I would suggest |
|---|---|
| 1 to 3 travellers | Mercedes E-Class |
| 4 to 7 travellers, with ski bags | Mercedes V-Class |
| 8 to 16 | Mercedes Sprinter |
| 17 to 33 | Minibus |
| 34 to 60 | Coach |
Ski bags, snowboards and boot bags take much more space than ordinary suitcases. If you are a full party of seven with equipment, ask for the Sprinter instead. See the fleet page for seat counts, or the Sprinter van hire page for groups.
Barcelona airport to Pas de la Casa
Many skiers land at El Prat and go straight to the mountains. I pick you up at arrivals and drive you to your hotel in the resort, so there is no stop in Barcelona. Give me the flight number in the form and I work the departure around your landing time. For the airport leg alone, see Barcelona airport transfer.
Bus or private transfer to Pas de la Casa?
There are coach services into Andorra, and they are the cheapest way to travel if you are alone and carry little. Their drawback is the fixed timetable and the drop-off point, which is often not your hotel. A private transfer picks you up where you are and delivers you to the address you give me.
Before you cross the border, look at the entry rules for your nationality on the Andorra tourism website. Passports and identity documents are your responsibility, so check them early.
Pas de la Casa and Andorra la Vella
Pas de la Casa is only one of the places people want in Andorra. For the capital and the rest of the principality, read the Barcelona to Andorra transfer page, which covers the same price table and the route to Andorra la Vella.
Planning the day of travel
Ski transfers work best when the schedule is set the evening before. Check the check-in time at your hotel in Pas de la Casa, then I work backwards from it. Leaving Barcelona early on a Saturday, when many ski weeks change over, avoids the heaviest traffic on the road out of the city. If your accommodation is in Soldeu, El Tarter or Canillo instead, the route is the same until the last stretch, and I give you the final time in the quote.
Weather decides the last part of the drive in winter. I do not promise a time that the mountain may change. I tell you what I expect, agree a margin with you, and keep you informed by WhatsApp if conditions slow the drive. Please check the road and weather information published by the Andorran authorities on the day of travel.
Luggage, ski equipment and the vehicle
Most ski parties underestimate the volume of their kit. A pair of skis in a bag, boots, a helmet and a suitcase each for four people fill a V-Class quickly. If you carry equipment for five or six, I would book the Sprinter and use the extra seats as luggage space. Tell me the number of people and the number of ski or snowboard bags in the form so I can match the vehicle properly.
Rental shops in the resort mean you can leave the skis at home, and then the V-Class is comfortable again. Either way, the decision is easier when I have the real numbers.
One way, return or a week apart?
Many guests book the outward journey and the return separately, a week apart. That works well, because each leg is a transfer with its own date, and I hold the vehicle for the day you need it. If you want both legs quoted together, say so in the form. A single-day return trip is possible, but it is a long day on the road, so I quote it on request. See the destinations index for the other transfers from Barcelona I cover.
How to book
- Send the quote form with the date, pick-up address (or flight number) and resort or hotel.
- Add the number of travellers and how much ski equipment you carry.
- I reply by e-mail or WhatsApp with the vehicle, departure time and price, VAT included.
- Confirm, and the driver arrives at the agreed time.
Use the form below, or go to the contact page. If you want me to hold the return leg too, say so in the form and I quote both directions together.
