Sitges is the nearest beach town to Barcelona airport, which makes a private transfer very practical. You land, meet the driver and are at your hotel in about half an hour. This page covers the route, the alternatives and how I quote it.
Barcelona airport to Sitges: distance and time
From Barcelona-El Prat to Sitges it is 32 km, about 30 min without traffic (route on Google Maps). The road runs along the coast south of the airport. Weekend beach traffic in summer and festival days can slow it, so I plan the pick-up with margin.
The town publishes events and visitor information on sitgestur.cat, which is worth checking if you travel during a festival.
Barcelona airport to Sitges transfer price
The airport-to-Sitges transfer is quoted on request. It depends on the vehicle, your exact address and the date. Prices are in euros, include VAT and are per vehicle, not per person.
If you are leaving from the city centre instead, Barcelona to Sitges has a fixed price per vehicle, which you can see on the destinations page and the Barcelona to Sitges page.
Sitges to Barcelona airport
The return is as common as the arrival. The route is the same, and the planning works backwards from your flight: terminal, check-in and a margin for traffic on the coastal road. Send me your flight time and I confirm when the driver should be at your hotel.
If you stay in Sitges and use Barcelona for sightseeing, a driver at your disposal by the hour lets you do both; see chauffeur by the hour and the Sitges day trip page.
Barcelona airport to Sitges by taxi, bus or train
Visitors compare options, so here is a quick picture:
- Taxi: regulated by the AMB; check the current tariff there, and agree the price for a long ride in advance.
- Train: Renfe links Barcelona with Sitges. From the airport you usually change in the city.
- Bus: coach services exist. I do not list times or fares.
- Private chauffeur: one vehicle, one price agreed before you fly. For a comparison, see airport taxi vs private car.
Choosing the vehicle
| Vehicle | Passengers | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | couples and business travellers |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | families with luggage |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | wedding guests and groups |
| Minibus | up to 33 | larger parties |
| Coach | up to 60 | tour groups |
Sitges has narrow streets near the seafront, so for a large group I agree the drop-off point with you in advance. The fleet page shows the vehicles.
Planning your arrival in Sitges
Because the trip is short, the main question is what happens after you land. If your hotel allows early check-in, the transfer is simple. If not, a driver at your disposal can take you for lunch or a walk before the room is ready, though the 6-hour minimum applies to hourly hire.
Tell me the flight number and the hotel in the form, and I plan the pick-up from the real landing time. In peak summer and during festivals the coastal road is slower, so I leave margin on the way back to the airport.
Luggage, hotels and street access
Sitges is compact, but the streets near the old town and the seafront are narrow, and some hotels sit on pedestrian lanes. Tell me the hotel name and I agree the closest practical drop-off point, so you do not walk far with heavy cases. For a large group, I may suggest meeting at a nearby square and sending the luggage on separately.
Sitges as a base for the Costa Dorada
Many guests use Sitges as a base for the beaches and the wine country around it. If you plan day trips from there, tell me, because a driver at your disposal can collect you at the hotel and bring you back, which is often simpler than arranging several short transfers. Ask in the form and I quote the day as one booking.
