Reus is the airport of the Costa Daurada, south of Tarragona. Some airlines fly there rather than into Barcelona, and guests who land at Reus often have a Barcelona hotel, a cruise to catch or a meeting in the city. This page describes the private transfer from Reus Airport to Barcelona and how I quote it.
Reus Airport to Barcelona: the route
From Reus Airport to Plaça de Catalunya it is 102 km and about 1 h 35 min without traffic (route on Google Maps). That is a free-flow time. The approach to Barcelona on a weekday morning or evening is busier, so the real journey can be longer, and I plan the pick-up with that in mind.
This is not the short airport run that people know from El Prat, which is why this page exists apart from the main Barcelona airport transfer page. The distance is the reason the transfer is quoted instead of taken from a fixed table.
What a private transfer from Reus costs
Reus Airport is not in the owner’s price table. The transfer to Barcelona is quoted on request, by vehicle, with VAT included, and the price is per vehicle rather than per passenger. The quote depends on the vehicle, the time of day and the drop-off address. For the prices that are published, such as the Barcelona airport run and the hourly rates, see the prices page.
Searches for a Reus Airport to Barcelona taxi price usually come down to this: you want to know the number before you fly. Send me the flight details in the form and I reply with it.
Which vehicle
| Vehicle | Passengers | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | up to 3 | Couples, business travellers |
| Mercedes V-Class | up to 7 | Families, small groups with luggage |
| Mercedes Sprinter | up to 16 | Larger parties |
| Minibus | up to 33 | Tour and school groups |
| Coach | up to 60 | Large groups, cruise parties |
The S-Class is booked by the hour only, so it does not apply to a one-way transfer. For a couple, the Mercedes E-Class is the usual choice, and for a family the Mercedes V-Class has the room. Larger groups should look at the minibus or a coach. Count the large cases as well as the people, and choose the next size up if you are close.
Reus Airport to Barcelona by train, bus or private transfer
Anyone searching this route finds train and bus timetables first, so here is how I see the options.
- Train. There is a rail link between the Reus area and Barcelona, run by Renfe. It suits a traveller with light luggage and a station-side address, and it requires a connection from the airport to the station.
- Bus. Coach operators run services between the airport and Barcelona, and their timetables are on their own sites. Check them against your landing time.
- Private transfer. A driver meets your arrival and takes you straight to the hotel or the port, with the vehicle sized to the group. It costs more than public transport, and it removes the connections.
For a group of four to seven with suitcases, or for a late landing after the public services have stopped, the private option is usually the practical choice.
Reus Airport to the Barcelona cruise port, Sants or your hotel
Common drop-offs are:
- The cruise port. Check the berth and the terminal with your cruise line or the Port of Barcelona. My cruise port transfer page explains how embarkation days work.
- Barcelona-El Prat Airport. For a connecting flight, with the departure terminal confirmed on the Aena website.
- Sants station or your hotel. Tell me the address.
Each is quoted on request. If you want to continue further, for example to Valencia, see the Barcelona to Valencia page, and the destinations hub lists the rest.
Your flight and the pick-up
I ask for the flight number, the arrival date and the number of passengers. I confirm the pick-up point with you before you travel. If your flight lands late, tell me when you write and I plan around the schedule you give me. I do not state fixed waiting times here, because they depend on the booking and are agreed in the confirmation.
